My adorable teacher told as to invent a poem about first love, this is what it came out.

My First Love

There was he,

and the time passed like a snail

when I first met him.

My world started shaking

and some butterflies were growing,

the strange feeling was absorving me

when I saw you walking.

My life would not be the same 

when I saw the door for happines 

open to me.

Kill to Eat

“Kill to Eat” by Oodgeroo Nunukul tells the story of an aboriginal’ family. This family has a lot of respect for nature but five of the brothers and sisters broke this respect by killing a kookaburra. Kill to Eat show the coming of age in this family.

In the story, coming on age brings more rights than when they were younger. The eldest could make their own weapons and go hunting from their own. Also when they go hunting, the eldest start the shooting. Another right is that the eldest has the respect from the youngest.  “He only boasted in front of us knowing that we wouldn’t complain about him to our parents.” This quote explains another right they have that is that they can enjoy being the eldest.

Another thing of coming of age has their responsibilities. “We must all take the blame.” This quote show one of the responsibilities that they are responsible of what they do. Apart from this, when they come older they have to be a good model for the youngest this mean that they have to follow the rules.

In conclusion, coming of age brings more rights than when they were youngest but also with these rights also brings responsibilities.  They could go hunting by they own but they have to be responsible of what they do.

Ironic

1.        An old man turned ninety-eight he won the lottery and died the next day= situational
   It's a black fly in your Chardonnay= situational
   It's a death row pardon two minutes too late= situational

   It's a free ride when you've already paid= situational

   Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly he packed his suitcase and kissed his kids good-bye he waited his whole damn life to take that flight and as the plane crashed down= situational
   "Well, isn't this nice."= verbal.
   
   A traffic jam when you're already late= situational
   A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break= situational
   It's like 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife= situational
   It's meeting the man of my dreams and then meeting his beautiful wife= situational
   2.   The most ironic in my point of view is “It's meeting the man of my dreams and then meeting his beautiful wife” because is something that people wish all their life, and when finally you could find it he or she is married.
   3.   I think that the author is trying to show anger because these are some of the worse situations people could have and show how life could give you something good and two seconds after can ruin it. 
   
   

The Signalman

The narrator said "Halloa! Below there!" to a man with a flag in his hand
He saw the man looking to the dark tunel and after to he.
Extacly after, the narator went down and started talking to the signalman.
Special things had happened to the signalman, he saw a spectre before, three times.
In conection with this apearences some accident happened in the rainway.
Genrealy, when people has something that tells you that something wrong it will happen the alert people.
Nevertheless, the signalman couldn't because he would seem like a crazy man.
At the next day, the narrator went to the place were the signalman was and saw that an accident had happened.
Lamentably, the signal was killed by the train.
Misteriously, the words and the gestures that the driver did where the same that the signalman did to show what the spectre did.
After that, he realised that the words that the driver said where the same that the signalman, the spectre and himself did.
Never the life of the narrator would be the same.

How does it makes you feel?

“How does it make you feel?” is a song that as its title says manes you ask yourself how does the video and the use of language of this song make you feel, and the answer is that you feel strange and also need someone.

At first, the images of the different animals, people and objects make you feel that all this things are the same. The people give you the idea of being incomplete because you don’t have someone with you. The objects are like a machine that control that the people are unificate or not. But when this someone that it cares to the people is not there, this machine it get burn and it broke and so it put any piece in the body of the woman, like the fish.

This images are connected to the music because gives you the impression of something that is happening in slow motion. In connection to the lyric, the verse “Well, I really think you should quit smoking” is what that someone that was gone to the question: How does it make you feel? Of all what he has said before.

In my opinion, this video is very strange. The part of the objects getting burn is very shocking and makes you feel a bit sad. But the last image of the girl with the fish head was the stranger, it was like a dream.

In conclusion, this song makes you feel all differents thing. In same parts it makes you feel strange because of the images. But the lyric and the language makes you feel sad for the one that is singing.

Descriptive Text

In the story “Secrets”, Mary is the aunt of the narrator, she is on her deathbed. She is very present in the memories of her nephew and because she is dying he remembers an event that changed their relationship.
Mary is an old woman, who has always been small. When she was young, she had long dark hair and she had eyes that said so much without words. When she was old she had fresh skin, white and wave hair. She almost didn’t use jewelry except for a ring and a chain. On her deathbed, her face seems to start vanishing, her white hair is damp and pushed back from her forehead and her eyes are closed. The old woman has a lot of respect for private life and wants people to care what she thinks. She gets angry when people invade her privacy.
The grandaunt does not talk a lot and does not talk about her life. She has a calm tone of voice. However, when she gets angry her tone becomes a bit rude. Mary was in love of Brother Benignus. He is an ex soldier that Mary knew and she was in love with, they communicated by letters.
She had a good relationship with her nephew and he disobeyed her by reading her letters because of this, she slapped him. The narrator is afraid of this grandaunt but he feels guilty because of what he has done.  However Brother Benignus feels an other thing, he is in love with her and is sorry because he will not write to her again.
“‘A-A-A’, she moved her pen from side to side. ‘Do-not-touch’, she said and smiled. ‘Anything else, yes! That section, no!’”. this quote represents best the kind of person Mary is. It represents how important private life is to her. If Mary was an animal would be an owl because it represents the mystery and all the secrets she has. The owl only goes out in the night and is on the tree almost without making any sound and staring at you and that gives you the feeling of mystery.
